Hey everyone,
This is Mom, now I am posting under Carly's sign in; my user name seems to no longer exist. I am sure, however it is operator error, the computer and I are still only acquaintences, not friends.
Amy and Chad, I think you are mistaken; the old oak table never looked that good! We need to do the same to the cherry bedroom furniture from the girls room, which also was annointed with nail polish, marker, water, etc. over the years.
It is a small world; the other day I was working at the clinic and a mom called to see if her son could get the second Hepatitis B in the series before they left for BULGARIA the next day to pick up their son from his mission. He had served in Sofia, Varna, Plevin, said he had participated in or had done 5 baptisms, that the work is still hard, but doing a little better than in 1998. And then last Wednesday, I worked 14 (Ugh!) hours at the Instacare and Dr. Joseph Nelson and his wife came in, I hadn't seen him for years. He was the one who worked on Amy's hurt knee in high school, and Phil's broken wrist in 1989. He asked about the family, I told him we had 2 new grandbabies, one here and one in Virginia. He and his wife served a church service mission in Buena Vista, where Amber and Evan go to church! They loved Lexington, knew all about the University, and the new Stake Center being built, etc.
We had a great time camping with my siblings this weekend. Only Kerry and Lori, and Kevin and Leslie and their families could come, but we had a nice visit. On Friday, Dad, Kevin, Kerry and Buster went in on a motorcycle ride for the day, to Soda Springs and Montpelier, and everyone else spent the day at Bear Lake, even Amy and Lizzie for a while. We played in the water with the rafts, etc, and sat in the sun till we were all a little sunburned and tired and then went back to camp. Everyone stopped on the way to see Amy and Justin's house, we missed Phil and KaDee's because they were at work. We picked 4 dozen ears of corn from the garden and had a big corn feast, cooked it in our big turkey roaster pot on the camp chef. It's funny how traditions come to mean so much, even to the little kids. We were packing up to leave, and Emmy was sad; she hadn't had her hot chocolate for the day. So I climbed back in to the trailer and made her some. Some camping items are essential.
Last night we cut down 3 rows of the corn stalks and took them over to Dee's cows; he says they're spoiled. Summer is about to wind down, the trailer is all cleaned out. It went way too fast this year. Our Macintosh apple tree is loaded this year, we'll be making pies soon.
Hope you all have a nice day, I love staying in touch this way!
Love Mom
